Coach Pfeifer on Hentzen: “Tyler suffered some minor injuries last year, but was tough enough to fight through them. More than once we required Hentzen to guard and bang with the biggest player on the other team's front line . More often than not his willingness to compete in the trenches was of great value.”
2008-09: Played in 23 games and started one...made 19 field goals on 38 attempts from the floor...made 15 free throws and averaged 14.1 minutes per game...scored 53 points on the year and had a season-high nine points versus Chadron State...pulled down 56 rebounds for a 2.4 average and had four blocks and eight steals.
2007-08: Played in 26 games and started eight…averaged 4.0 points per game…his 5.3 rebounds per game was good for second on the team and the best among returners…went 35 of 74 from the field…7 of 10 from beyond the arc and knocked down 28 free throws…second on the team in total rebounds with 139 and tied for the team lead in offensive rebounds with 52.
Orange Coast College: Played in nine games as a freshman and averaged 6.3 points and 4.5 rebounds.
Brea Olinda High School: Earned three letters in basketball…averaged 13.7 points and 10.3 rebounds a game…named team MVP, Sonora Tournament MVP, and Brea All-Tournament…led Brea Olinda to its first playoff win in 25 years to reach the second round of the state tournament.
